Fiery Police Chase in Little Rock Ends in Deadly Crash, Killing Two Passengers

Little Rock, Ark. — A high-speed police chase late Wednesday night in Little Rock ended in a fiery crash, killing two passengers and injuring the 20-year-old driver, according to the Arkansas State Police (ASP).

High-Speed Pursuit Begins on Interstate 30

Authorities say the deadly incident began around 10:15 p.m. when an Arkansas State Police trooper spotted a red Infiniti speeding eastbound on Interstate 30.

When the trooper attempted a traffic stop, the driver exited the highway using an off-ramp and continued to flee, reaching speeds over 100 mph while ignoring traffic lights and nearly striking other vehicles, investigators said.

Pursuit Reaches Dangerous Speeds

The suspect then reentered Interstate 30, accelerating to over 130 mph, before taking another exit and speeding down a service road. The chase ended violently when the Infiniti collided with another car, crashed into heavy machinery, and burst into flames.

Two Passengers Killed, Driver Hospitalized

Both passengers inside the Infiniti died at the scene from the impact and resulting fire.
The driver, identified only as a 20-year-old man from Little Rock, was ejected from the vehicle and transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Authorities confirmed that the other driver involved in the collision escaped without injury.

Investigation Ongoing

The Arkansas State Police have not yet released the names of the victims or the injured driver, pending notification of next of kin.

Officials added that the investigation remains active, and charges may be filed once the driver’s condition stabilizes.

Community Reaction

Residents expressed shock over the deadly pursuit, with some calling for stricter enforcement on reckless driving and others questioning pursuit protocols in densely populated areas. Authorities have not commented on whether the vehicle or driver were connected to any prior criminal activity.

Weather and Road Conditions

At the time of the crash, road conditions were dry, and there were no immediate weather-related factors contributing to the accident, according to initial reports, as per reports.

What’s Next

The Arkansas State Police Crash Reconstruction Unit will analyze the scene to determine the exact cause of the crash and evaluate whether department pursuit policies were properly followed during the chase.
