Miami Beach, FL — A coordinated operation between Miami Beach Police and the FBI led to the arrest of a Las Vegas fugitive accused of human trafficking and a long list of violent crimes. Authorities say the individual believed he could hide in South Florida — but investigators tracked him down before he could disappear again.
Fugitive Wanted for Serious Offenses in Las Vegas
The suspect, identified as 35-year-old Dshante Styles, was taken into custody on Friday following a police pursuit through multiple cities in Miami-Dade County. According to officials, Styles was wanted in Las Vegas, Nevada, on a series of violent charges, including:
- Sex trafficking
- Endangering other persons or property
- Violent criminal behavior linked to human exploitation
Miami Beach Police described Styles as a known fugitive with an extensive and violent criminal history spanning multiple states.
Police and FBI Track Suspect Through South Florida
Investigators received intelligence indicating that Styles had traveled to Miami Beach. With support from FBI agents, detectives used license plate reader technology to locate a rental minivan allegedly driven by the fugitive.
Police located the vehicle in the 400 block of 10th Street. However, when officers attempted a traffic stop, the suspect refused to comply and sped away, initiating a dangerous flight from law enforcement.
The minivan was eventually found abandoned in North Bay Village, a neighboring island community. Officers then saw Styles exiting the vehicle and attempting to escape on foot. The attempt was short-lived, and he was quickly apprehended after a brief foot chase.
Body Camera Footage Shows Confused Suspect
Police later released body camera footage showing the arrest. In the video, Styles appears surprised that authorities were able to locate him.
“How y’all get on me? I’m confused,” Styles asked during the arrest, according to the footage.
Despite his confusion, investigators say tracking tools and interagency collaboration made the arrest possible.
Additional Charges Filed in Florida
Apart from the outstanding fugitive warrant from Nevada, Styles is now facing new charges in Florida, including:
- Fleeing and eluding police
He was taken into custody without injuries reported by police or responding officers, as per NBC.

Miami Beach Police Chief Wayne A. Jones credited strong teamwork for the successful capture.
“This arrest underscores the power of partnership and the value of proactive policing,” Chief Jones said. “This individual posed a significant danger to our community and others across the country. Thanks to the coordination and diligence of our detectives and federal partners, a violent offender is now off the streets.”
Miami Beach Police spokesperson Christopher Bess echoed that message, emphasizing accountability for criminals who travel to South Florida.
“This person fled to Miami Beach thinking he was in a city where he could get away with that, and he was in the wrong city,” Bess stated. “If you come to our city, whether it’s from another state or a neighboring city, we will locate you, and you will be held accountable and arrested.”

The case remains under review as processes begin to return Styles to face charges in Nevada. Meanwhile, Miami Beach Police say they will continue working closely with regional and national partners to prevent dangerous individuals from using the city as a place to hide.
