Oshkosh, WI — Four individuals, including a teenager and a 21-year-old Milwaukee resident, were arrested on Tuesday following a police drug bust on Amherst Avenue that led to the seizure of cocaine, marijuana, and a handgun, authorities said.
The operation was carried out by the Oshkosh Police Department’s Vice and Narcotics Unit in collaboration with the Criminal Investigation Division.
Search Warrant Leads to Major Confiscation
Police executed a search warrant at a residence on Amherst Avenue, where they discovered significant quantities of drugs and a firearm. Officers reported confiscating 3 grams of cocaine, 1,133.9 grams of marijuana, and one handgun.
Authorities say the operation was part of ongoing efforts to target illegal drug activity in the area, particularly operations that involve large amounts of controlled substances and weapons.
Arrested Suspects
The four suspects taken into custody ranged in age from 16 to 38 years old. The 21-year-old Milwaukee resident was arrested specifically on suspicion of cocaine possession, according to the reports.
Additionally, a 20-year-old and a 38-year-old were arrested due to active warrants issued through probation and parole authorities, highlighting the ongoing monitoring of individuals with previous legal issues. Police have not yet released details about the suspected offenses involving the 16-year-old, who was also taken into custody during the operation.
Community Concerns and Law Enforcement Response
Officials emphasized that the bust was part of a larger effort to curb drug-related activity in Oshkosh and protect the community from illegal substances and firearms.
Police noted that the combination of cocaine, marijuana, and a handgun posed significant risks not only to those involved but also to neighbors and the surrounding community.
“This arrest demonstrates our ongoing commitment to removing dangerous drugs and weapons from our neighborhoods,” a spokesperson for the Oshkosh Police Department said. “Our teams will continue to work tirelessly to investigate, apprehend, and prosecute those who engage in illegal activity that threatens public safety.”
Continuing Investigation
Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the full scope of the drug operation, including whether the seized substances were intended for distribution within Oshkosh or surrounding communities. Officials have also urged anyone with additional information regarding this case to contact the Oshkosh Police Department.
The arrests serve as a reminder of the ongoing challenges law enforcement faces in tackling illegal drug activity and ensuring community safety, particularly when firearms are involved alongside controlled substances.
