Two Juveniles Charged with Attempted Murder, Rape, and Kidnapping of 5-Year-Old in Ohio

Cuyahoga County, Ohio – Two juveniles, a 9-year-old boy and a 10-year-old girl, are facing serious charges including attempted murder, rape, and kidnapping after a horrifying assault on a 5-year-old girl on September 13, authorities said.

The attack left the child severely injured and traumatized, and her mother described the scene as “unbelievable.”

Harrowing Assault Leaves Child Injured

The incident occurred when the young girl was dropped off at a family member’s home for a short visit. She later left the property on her own and was missing for several hours. She was eventually found unresponsive and bloodied in a nearby field.

Her mother recalled the horrifying state of her daughter. She said the child’s hair had been scalped, her body was covered in bruises, and blood filled her eyes, lips, and mouth. The girl’s fingernails had dirt and debris embedded in them, and a large portion of her braided hair was missing.

The little girl was hospitalized for about a week and remains traumatized, struggling to recover from the attack, as pet The Post.

Upon waking, she reportedly told her mother, “They killed me,” expressing a fear that she had died during the assault.

Charges Against the Juveniles

According to the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office, the two suspects were charged as juveniles with:

  • Four counts of rape
  • Two counts of felonious kidnapping
  • One count of attempted murder
  • One count of kidnapping
  • One count of strangulation

Authorities have not released further details due to the sensitive nature of the case.

Mother Pleads for Justice and Recovery

The child’s mother is seeking justice while praying for her daughter’s healing and return to a normal childhood. She described the emotional impact of witnessing her daughter’s injuries and continues to advocate for her child’s recovery, emphasizing the need for support and protection for young victims.

Safety Considerations

This case highlights the importance of vigilance when supervising children, even in familiar settings. Authorities stress the need for community awareness, careful monitoring, and access to trauma counseling for children affected by violence.

The suspects remain in juvenile custody, and their legal proceedings are ongoing.
