East Arcadia, NC – The Bladen County Sheriff’s Office reports that several individuals have been arrested after deputies recovered a stolen e-bike and uncovered illegal narcotics during an investigation in East Arcadia.
Investigation Triggered by Stolen E-Bike
According to Sheriff Jim McVicker, the investigation began when the Wilmington Police Department alerted Bladen County investigators about a stolen e-bike taken from their jurisdiction. Deputies from the Criminal and Narcotics Division traced the stolen property to a residence in East Arcadia.
Once deputies recovered the e-bike, they secured the property and found evidence of narcotics activity. During the operation, a wanted suspect, identified as Damon James Mullins, was located at the scene and taken into custody.
Following Mullins’ arrest, deputies obtained a search warrant, which led to the seizure of illegal drugs and the arrest of multiple individuals involved in the case, as per reports.
Arrested Individuals and Charges
- Damon James Mullins, of East Arcadia, was served with multiple outstanding felony warrants and probation violations. He is also charged with Possession of Stolen Goods/Property.
- Keil Sands, of Elizabethtown, was charged with Possession of Stolen Goods/Property. Sands is currently on probation for prior narcotic-related offenses.
- Tonnie Gregg, of Elizabethtown, faces several felony charges, including:
- Felony Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance
- Manufacture Schedule II Controlled Substance
- Maintaining a Dwelling for Keeping and Selling Controlled Substances
- Alter/Steal/Destroy Criminal Evidence
- Freddie Lacewell Jr., also of Elizabethtown, was charged with:
- Felony Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance
- Manufacture Schedule II Controlled Substance
- Alter/Steal/Destroy Criminal Evidence
Sheriff’s Statement
Sheriff McVicker commended the efforts of the Criminal and Narcotics Division, noting that the recovery of the stolen e-bike not only solved a property crime but also disrupted local drug activity. He emphasized that continued cooperation between law enforcement agencies remains key to keeping Bladen County communities safe.
