Six Suspects Arrested after Crawling Between 7th-Floor Balconies in Burbank Theft Case

Burbank, California – A daring escape attempt took a dramatic turn when six suspects tied to a South American theft group were arrested after some tried to crawl across 7th-floor balconies of a Los Angeles apartment building, authorities said.

Investigation Overview

The Burbank Police Department (BPD) revealed that the investigation into the group began in June 2025 after a residential burglary was reported. Officials did not disclose the exact date or location of that burglary.

Recently, Burbank detectives, along with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department (SBSD), executed a search warrant connected to the case at an apartment building near downtown Los Angeles, according to a BPD statement and photos shared online.

Balcony Escape Attempt

When officers arrived at the 7th-floor apartment, they discovered it was unoccupied. Investigators soon realized that four suspects had escaped by tightroping across a narrow ledge from one balcony to another in a risky attempt to avoid arrest.

Officials did not clarify whether the other two suspects were inside the apartment or apprehended elsewhere. All six individuals were eventually located and taken into custody, as per KTLA.

Evidence and Linked Crimes

During the search, detectives uncovered a large amount of evidence linking the suspects to multiple residential burglaries across Burbank, Monterey Park, and Chino Hills.

According to BPD, the discovery helped solve five separate burglary cases. Among the items found were stolen property and materials commonly used in theft operations.

Arrests and Charges

All six suspects were transported to the Burbank Police Department jail, where they were booked for residential burglary and receiving stolen property.

Photos released by investigators also showed “pink cocaine” being prepared in a blender along with hundreds of empty plastic baggies, though police noted that no drug-related charges have been filed at this time.
