Wilton Manors, FL – A home invasion in the small Broward County town of Wilton Manors ended quickly after a trained MMA fighter intervened, authorities report. The suspect, 31-year-old Austin Caresani, was arrested following the incident.

Home Invasion Details

The incident took place at a residence near N.E. 3rd Avenue and N.E. 24th Street on Saturday night, according to court records. Caresani allegedly entered the home without permission or lawful authority. The homeowner’s nephew reportedly called for help after noticing the intrusion.

The homeowner’s brother, Henny Rojas, a professional mixed martial artist, responded immediately. “I’m prepared. It’s not my first time. I don’t feel any pain. Nothing,” Rojas told WFOR. Using his hands alone, he quickly confronted and subdued the intruder.

Rojas described the encounter: “I don’t like guns… just God and my hands and that’s all.” The teenager inside the home had called out to him, prompting the quick response.

Suspect’s Account

According to the Wilton Manors Police Department, Caresani admitted he had been drinking at a nearby club and claimed he was trying to reach a friend named “Paul.” He reportedly did not know the residents and attempted to flee when confronted.

Court records show Caresani has been charged with one count of home invasion without a firearm. He was booked into Broward County Jail and later released on $20,000 bond.

Community Reaction

The incident left family members shaken but grateful for Rojas’ quick action. “We’re not scared, I’m not scared… I just protect my family, and that’s it,” Rojas said as per the reports.
