Colorado Man who Hid Phone in Women’s Restroom Arrested on Drug Charges; Guns also Confiscated

Craig, CO — A 48-year-old man already convicted of secretly filming women inside a restaurant restroom was taken into custody again, this time in a major drug raid in northwestern Colorado.

Arrest During Search Warrant

On September 19, authorities executed a search warrant at 1225 W. 6th St., Apt B25, Craig, where they arrested Dustin Hyatt, 48, along with Tanya Vallejos, 46. Both were booked on drug distribution charges.

Drugs and Weapons Seized

According to the Craig Police Department, officers seized a large quantity of methamphetamine inside the apartment. Due to the volume of drugs, Hyatt and Vallejos are facing Class 1 Drug Felonies—the most serious drug-related charges under Colorado law.

As per CBS News, investigators also recovered a rifle, three handguns, and additional weapons, leading to an extra charge for Hyatt: Possession of Weapons by a Previous Offender.

Multi-Agency Operation

The raid was carried out by Moffat County’s Special Response Team, with support from Craig PD and the All Crimes Enforcement Team (ACET)—a task force targeting drug trafficking in Moffat and Routt counties.

Tied to Earlier Voyeurism Case

This is not Hyatt’s first encounter with ACET. In March 2024, the unit arrested him after discovering he had hidden his phone in the women’s restroom of a Steamboat Springs restaurant on at least 10 separate occasions.

Investigators found 51 images of 33 victims, leading to 33 misdemeanor counts of Invasion of Privacy for Sexual Gratification. In August, Hyatt struck a plea deal with Routt County prosecutors, pleading guilty to one count. His sentencing in that case is set for November 19.

Current Status

Hyatt remains behind bars in Moffat County Jail following the drug bust. He has another court hearing scheduled for Friday in the new case.
