Milwaukee, WI – A 17-year-old, identified as Dashauna C. Egerson, has been charged with three counts of second-degree reckless homicide following a police chase on Sept. 16 that ended in a crash, killing a 50-year-old mother and her two sons.
Victims Identified
The crash claimed the lives of Pler Moo, 50, and her sons Taw May Moo, 21, and Karlah Kri Moo, 15. Two other passengers in Moo’s vehicle survived but suffered severe injuries. A 16-year-old passenger in Egerson’s car was also injured.
Charges Against Egerson
Milwaukee County prosecutors have filed nine felony counts against Egerson, including:
- Three counts of second-degree reckless homicide
- Three counts of causing death while evading an officer
- Three counts of causing death while operating a vehicle without a valid license
The criminal complaint, filed Sept. 21 in Milwaukee County Circuit Court, details the high-speed pursuit that led to the fatal crash.
The Police Chase
Officers began pursuing Egerson’s car after observing it speeding on West Center Boulevard. When deputies turned on emergency lights to initiate a traffic stop, the car sped away.
The vehicle disregarded multiple stop signs southbound on North 35th Street. It ran a red traffic light at about 9:37 p.m. before colliding with Moo’s car, which was westbound on West Vliet Street with a green light.
Egerson was reportedly traveling at about 70 MPH in a 30 MPH zone just before the crash.
Egerson’s Statement
Egerson told police that 19-year-old Trevon L. Loston, a passenger in her car, had initially been driving and then switched places with her. According to the complaint, Loston pointed a gun at Egerson, instructing her to flee because the car was stolen. Egerson admitted that she accelerated toward Moo’s vehicle, knowing a crash was imminent.
Charges Against Trevon Loston
Loston was previously charged on Sept. 19 with three felony counts, including:
- Bail jumping
- Possession of a firearm as an adjudicated delinquent
- Operating a vehicle without consent of the owner
The case remains under investigation as authorities continue to review evidence from the fatal pursuit.
