Austin, TX – Four people were arrested following a burglary at an Airbnb in the West Campus area that also led to the rescue of an overdose victim and the discovery of a drug operation, according to the Austin Police Department (APD).
Burglary Incident
APD responded around 11 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, to a report from victims staying at an Airbnb in the 900 block of West 21st Street. The visitors, from El Paso, told police that they returned to their rental to find several suspects stealing their belongings.
The suspects fled the scene in a vehicle, but the victims were able to track one of the stolen items back to the same block. Surveillance footage showed the suspect vehicle parked nearby. Although the suspects were not immediately located, the vehicle was towed by police.
Suspects Apprehended
A witness later informed police that the suspects had returned to the home. Officers detained two burglary suspects at the scene, along with a third individual who had arrived to pick them up.
While detaining the suspects, officers were alerted to a possible overdose victim inside the home. A welfare check revealed a woman going in and out of consciousness, who was immediately transported by Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services to a nearby hospital. She later told police that she had been drugged and sexually assaulted.
Evidence of Drug Activity
During the investigation, officers discovered evidence consistent with drug production inside the residence, as well as restraints and other items supporting the woman’s claims.

Four people were arrested in connection with the incident:
- Octavius Jackson: Possession of a controlled substance; outstanding warrant for possession of a controlled substance
- Latasha Fletcher: Possession of a controlled substance; burglary of a residence
