Stolen Car Smashes into Home after High-Speed Chase in Calvert County; Teen Seriously Injured

Huntingtown, MD – A high-speed chase involving a stolen vehicle ended Sunday evening when the car crashed into a house in Calvert County, authorities said.

Chase Begins

On September 14, 2025, at approximately 6:00 p.m., police spotted a white 2016 Kia Optima traveling northbound on Route 4 in the Huntingtown area. The vehicle was reportedly stolen in Prince George’s County.

Deputies attempted to monitor the vehicle, but it fled at high speed toward the Route 2/4 split, eventually reaching speeds over 100 mph, driving on the shoulder and into oncoming traffic. The chase continued onto Route 2 and West Mount Harmony Road.

Crash Into Residence

Minutes later, the stolen vehicle left the roadway, striking a utility pole, trees, bushes, and eventually a large A/C unit before colliding with a residence at West Mount Harmony Road near Hall Court and Vesta Lane.

One suspect fled on foot, while emergency responders were called due to a suspect trapped and unresponsive in the vehicle.

Emergency Response

A serious rescue assignment was dispatched at 6:08 p.m., bringing firefighters and EMS from Calvert and Anne Arundel Counties to the scene. Authorities confirmed that one suspect was trapped in the vehicle with no pulse.

Police were able to extricate the teen from the vehicle and began providing aid while a Maryland State Police helicopter was requested.

Victims and Arrests

  • A 16-year-old male was airlifted by Trooper 2 helicopter to MedStar Washington Hospital Center with life-threatening injuries.
  • A second teen was transported by ambulance to University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
  • Two additional suspects were taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit. EMS evaluated both; transport details are unknown.

Authorities confirmed that no residents of the home were injured, and there was no structural damage to the house.
