Brevard County, FL – A wrong-way crash on northbound Interstate 95 early Sunday morning left three people dead and involved at least eight vehicles, forcing hours of closure, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
Details of the Fatal Crash
The crash occurred around 3:50 a.m. just south of Wickham Road in the northbound lanes of I-95, FHP said.
According to the crash report, a 2020 Toyota Corolla was traveling south in the northbound inside lane of I-95 near mile marker 190 when it collided head-on with a 2014 Chevrolet Impala, which was traveling north in the inside lane.
The impact triggered a chain-reaction collision involving six additional vehicles:
- A 2007 Hyundai Tiburon struck both the Corolla and Impala, causing the Impala to run off the road and hit a guardrail.
- A 2015 Honda CR-V struck the disabled Corolla, sending the vehicle onto the outside shoulder.
- A 2025 Toyota Corolla then collided with the 2020 Corolla.
- A Volvo XC60 struck the left rear of the 2025 Corolla.
- A 2026 Honda Civic collided with the Tiburon.
- Finally, a 2017 Ford Escape struck the right front of the Volvo XC60.
Victims and Injuries
Fatalities:
- Driver of 2020 Toyota Corolla: 34-year-old Cocoa woman, pronounced dead at the scene.
- Driver of 2014 Chevrolet Impala: 34-year-old Holly Hill man, pronounced dead at the scene.
- Passenger in 2014 Chevrolet Impala: 46-year-old Holly Hill woman, pronounced dead at the scene.
Serious, but non-life-threatening injuries:
- Passenger in 2007 Hyundai Tiburon: 22-year-old Fort Lauderdale man
- Driver of 2015 Honda CR-V: 63-year-old Palm Bay man
Minor injuries:
- Driver of 2007 Hyundai Tiburon: 20-year-old Fort Lauderdale woman
- Driver of 2025 Toyota Corolla: 70-year-old Titusville man
- Driver of Volvo XC60: 46-year-old Rockledge woman
- Driver of Honda Civic: 59-year-old Palm Bay woman
The driver of the 2017 Ford Escape was uninjured and remained on the scene, FHP confirmed.
Road Reopening and Investigation

The roadblock on northbound I-95 was cleared before 1:30 p.m., restoring traffic flow after nearly 10 hours of closure, according to the reports from ClickOrlando.
Authorities continue to investigate the crash to determine the full cause and sequence of events, including factors contributing to the wrong-way driving incident.
