The collision occurred around 1 p.m. on Thursday, prompting the temporary closure of Santiago Canyon Road for approximately seven hours as emergency crews battled the aftermath. CHP Officer Fernando Perez disclosed that the gardening truck had swerved into the northbound lane, causing the deadly crash:
