Police Seize over 5 Pounds of Meth and Multiple Drugs in Asheville; 2 Nabbed

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Two individuals were arrested in Asheville on Tuesday following a major drug bust, resulting in the seizure of a large quantity of narcotics, firearms, and cash, authorities report.

Arrests and Charges

The Asheville Police Department, in collaboration with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, apprehended 44-year-old Takeia Vanessa Davis and 49-year-old Karriam Habar Taylor around 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both were found carrying concealed stolen firearms at the time of their arrests.

Following the arrests, officers obtained a search warrant for a residence on Cordova Street, where investigators seized a trafficking amount of narcotics, an additional firearm, and a significant sum of cash. The home was unoccupied during the search as per WYFF4.

Seized Items Include:

  • 2,432.41 grams of Methamphetamine (5.36 lbs)
  • 254.67 grams of Fentanyl
  • 100.6 grams of purple Fentanyl
  • 22.89 grams of blue pills (potentially pressed Fentanyl)
  • 40.23 grams of Powder Cocaine
  • 61.36 grams of Crack Cocaine
  • 43 unidentified pills
  • 2.76 grams of green powder
  • 3 Handguns
  • $3,453 in cash

Charges Against Karriam Habar Taylor:

  • Parole commission violation (F)
  • Possession of stolen firearm (F)
  • Possession of firearm by felon (F)
  • Carrying concealed gun (M)
  • Resisting public officer (M)

Taylor was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility without bond due to the parole violation.

Charges Against Takeia Vanessa Davis:

  • Possession of stolen firearm (F)
  • Carrying concealed gun (M)
  • Driving while license revoked (M)

Davis was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility under a $3,000 bond.
