ELKHART, Iowa – Two people were killed in a multi-vehicle crash near Elkhart on Tuesday evening.
According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, the two-car collision occurred at the intersection of Northeast 29th Street and Northeast 142nd Avenue around 7:35 p.m. Deputies who arrived on the scene found that a man and a woman had been ejected from the first car involved in the crash.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, while the woman was transported to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
