Florida Authorities Dismantle Lake County Drug Ring, 22-year-old Suspect Arrested

LAKE COUNTY, Fla. – A six-month-long operation culminated in a significant arrest on Tuesday, as Jartavious Coleman, 22, was taken into custody by Lake County deputies in a major drug trafficking bust.

The Investigation

According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation began after complaints from a concerned citizen alerted authorities to a drug-trafficking organization operating out of the Leesburg area. Undercover detectives eventually identified Coleman as the primary suspect in the operation.

Coleman, who was already on probation for cocaine possession as a drug trafficker, was found to be responsible for distributing illicit narcotics throughout Lake, Sumter, Marion, and Putnam counties.

Search Warrants and Seizure

With the help of the LCSO and Mid-Florida SWAT Teams, detectives executed several search warrants related to the case. As a result of their efforts, authorities seized:

  • 5 ounces of cocaine
  • 1 ounce of fentanyl
  • 4 pounds of cannabis
  • Several “clandestineoxycodone pills

ClickOrlando reported that the authorities estimate the street value of the seized drugs to be around $20,000.

The successful takedown of Coleman and his alleged drug trafficking operation represents a significant win for law enforcement in the fight against illegal drugs in central Florida.
