The Eighth Suspect Has Been Charged in the Viral Cincinnati Street Brawl That Injured Several People

Cincinnati, OH — Authorities have charged an eighth person in connection with the violent street brawl that erupted downtown last month, leaving multiple people injured.

New Defendant Identified Only by Age and Race

Cincinnati police said the newest suspect is an unidentified 45-year-old White man, who faces disorderly conduct, a fourth-degree misdemeanor, for his alleged involvement in the July 26 melee near the corner of Fourth and Elm streets.

“The man is also considered by police to be a victim of the brawl, which prevents authorities from releasing his name under Marsy’s Law,” the report stated (Fox News).

He is scheduled to appear in court on August 26.

Viral Footage and Previous Charges

The fight, which broke out in the early morning hours, was captured on video and quickly went viral on social media, drawing widespread attention.

Last week, Gregory Wright, 32, was charged with alleged aggravated riot and aggravated robbery. According to the criminal complaint obtained by Fox 19, Wright allegedly:

  • Did by force rip the necklace off the victim while he was being assaulted by four or more co-defendants attempting to cause serious physical harm.”
  • He reportedly then proceeded “to film the rest of the events.”

Grand Jury Indictments for Earlier Defendants

Earlier this month, six other individuals were indicted for their involvement in the incident. The Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed the defendants and charges to Fox News:

  • Patrick Rosemond, 38
  • Jermaine Matthews, 39
  • Montianez Merriweather, 34
  • DeKyra Vernon, 24
  • Dominique Kittle, 37
  • Aisha Devaughn, 25

Each faces three counts of felonious assault, three counts of assault, and two counts of aggravated rioting.

Investigation Ongoing

Authorities continue to investigate the brawl to determine the full scope of involvement and whether additional suspects could face charges. Police encourage anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
