Berkeley, CA – Police are searching for suspects after a daring burglary at a convenience store near the University of California, Berkeley campus early Sunday morning. A pickup truck smashed through the front window of a 7-Eleven around 3 a.m., then dragged an ATM out of the store before fleeing the scene.
Incident Details
According to the store manager, the thieves hooked a chain to the ATM and used the truck to drag it out and break it open. Thousands of dollars were reportedly stolen before law enforcement arrived. The truck and ATM were left abandoned in the middle of the road. Witnesses described the scene as chaotic as reported.
“It’s like something straight out of a movie, like wild. That’s crazy,” Customer Dylan Vang said.
