Portland Woman Wanted on Manslaughter Warrant after Allegedly Driving Drunk, Killing 4-Year-Old Son in Head-On Crash

Portland, OR – Authorities in Portland, Oregon, are actively searching for a woman accused of causing a deadly crash while allegedly extremely intoxicated, a collision that claimed the life of her 4-year-old son.

Felony Warrant Issued for Portland Mother

The Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office announced this week that Angelina Minor, 29, is now the subject of a felony arrest warrant for first-degree manslaughter. According to prosecutors, Minor violated the terms of her supervised release, prompting the court to issue the warrant.

Authorities say Minor is wanted in connection with a fatal crash that occurred earlier this year, one that investigators believe was directly caused by drunk driving and excessive speed.

Deadly Chain of Events Began With Earlier Crash

The tragic events unfolded on March 20, 2024, at approximately 9 p.m., in north Portland. Police say Minor was driving a black 2011 Hyundai Elantra when she became involved in an initial collision with a red 2024 Scion XB near North Lombard Street and North Richmond Avenue.

Although that first crash did not result in injuries, authorities say Minor failed to stop and exchange information, as required by law. Instead, the driver of the Scion reportedly followed Minor as she drove away from the scene.

Vehicle Crossed Median Into Oncoming Traffic

Roughly half a mile from the initial crash, investigators say Minor’s driving became even more dangerous. According to the Portland Police Bureau, Minor drove over a median divider and entered the oncoming lane of traffic along North Fessenden Street.

Police allege that she continued driving against traffic, creating an extreme hazard for other motorists. The situation reached a fatal conclusion when Minor reached North Mohawk Avenue, where she crashed head-on into a silver 2022 Tesla Model S.

Young Child Suffers Fatal Injuries

Inside Minor’s vehicle at the time of the crash were five people. Police say Minor had an adult male passenger in the front seat. In the back seat were three children: the man’s 4-year-old daughter, Minor’s 3-year-old daughter, and Minor’s 4-year-old son, Kingsten Coston.

Kingsten was severely injured in the collision. Authorities said bystanders immediately performed CPR until paramedics arrived and took over lifesaving efforts. Despite those actions, Kingsten was later pronounced dead due to the extent of his injuries.

Minor, her adult passenger, and the two surviving children were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Other Drivers Involved Survived

Officials confirmed that the driver of the Scion XB involved in the earlier collision was not injured. The driver of the Tesla Model S sustained injuries in the head-on crash but declined ambulance transport, according to authorities.

Investigators Cite Extreme Intoxication and Speeding

Following the crash, investigators determined that Angelina Minor was intoxicated and speeding at the time of the fatal collision. Police described the circumstances as particularly egregious.

“The driver was extremely intoxicated and had been going well above the posted speed limit,” said Lt. Ty Engstrom of the Portland Police Bureau, speaking to NBC affiliate KGW. “This crash absolutely involves extreme intoxication and speeding.”

Minor was initially booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on multiple charges.

Long List of Criminal Charges Filed

Court records show Minor faces numerous serious charges, including:

  • First-degree manslaughter
  • Driving under the influence of alcohol
  • Reckless driving
  • Third-degree assault
  • Failure to perform the duties of a driver
  • Three counts of recklessly endangering another person

Authorities later confirmed that Minor is now wanted on a felony warrant after allegedly violating the terms of her release.
