Guilford County Narcotics Task Force Executes Search Warrants

On December 12, the Guilford County Narcotics Task Force carried out multiple search warrants at various locations throughout Greensboro as part of a targeted investigation into illegal narcotics distribution, according to Sheriff Danny H. Rogers.

The coordinated operation resulted in the seizure of a substantial amount of drugs and cash, including:

  • Approximately 850 grams of cocaine
  • 99 oxycodone pills
  • 245 grams of marijuana
  • $16,800 in U.S. currency

Authorities emphasized that the seizure represents a major disruption to local drug trafficking operations, preventing these substances from reaching the community.

Arrest of Donald Gerard Hoover Jr.

Following the investigation, law enforcement officers arrested Donald Gerard Hoover Jr., 38, in connection with the narcotics activity. He was formally charged with:

  • Two counts of felony trafficking cocaine
  • One count of felony trafficking heroin/opioid

Sheriff Rogers noted that the charges are serious felony offenses under North Carolina law, reflecting the scale of the trafficking operation.

Bond and Release

Hoover was held at the Guilford County Detention Center and was granted a $250,000 secured bond. He has since been released from custody pending further court proceedings.

Authorities stressed that investigations into narcotics trafficking in the county remain a top priority, and additional charges or arrests could follow as the case develops. Sheriff Rogers highlighted that Guilford County law enforcement agencies continue to focus on reducing drug-related crime, emphasizing both public safety and community outreach.

Officials also encourage residents to report any suspicious activity related to drug trafficking or abuse, reminding the community that cooperation with law enforcement can prevent criminal activity and protect families.
