Wautoma Woman Sentenced for Fatal Overdose; Faces Separate Reckless Driving Charges in Outagamie County

Wautoma, Wisconsin – A Wautoma woman was sentenced to ten years in prison Monday for her role in supplying drugs that caused a fatal overdose, while she awaits trial on separate charges related to a high-speed crash in Outagamie County, authorities said.

Andi Anthony, 31, now faces a complex legal situation, with one case concluded in Waushara County and another pending in Outagamie County.

Conviction for Fatal Overdose in Waushara County

According to court records, Anthony was convicted of second-degree reckless homicide for the March 4, 2024 death of a man at a hotel in Dakota, Wisconsin.

During Monday’s sentencing, Judge Guy Dutcher ordered Anthony to:

  • Serve ten years in prison
  • Complete eight years of extended supervision
  • Pay $1,818 in restitution to the victim’s family

The conviction stemmed from Anthony supplying drugs that directly contributed to the man’s fatal overdose, prosecutors said.

Anthony also faces multiple charges stemming from a December 9, 2024 crash in Grand Chute, including reckless injury and seven additional counts.

No trial date has yet been set for the Outagamie County case, but a pre-trial conference is scheduled for January 21.

High-Speed Chase Ends in House Crash

According to the criminal complaint, investigators observed Anthony and a male passenger enter a suspect vehicle outside a Grand Chute business. After witnessing the driver fail to stop at a stop sign, officers attempted a traffic stop.

The driver fled, reaching speeds estimated at 80 mph in a 30 mph zone on Capitol Drive. The officer temporarily discontinued pursuit after losing sight of the vehicle.

Minutes later, the car crashed into the attached garage of a house in the 3100 block of W. Capitol Drive, causing significant property damage. Witnesses reported that both occupants ran from the scene.

Authorities later located Anthony and the passenger hiding in a shed just over an hour after the crash. The passenger suffered serious injuries, including a broken pelvis, and was transported to a local hospital.

Evidence Recovered at the Scene

Police found hypodermic needles, naloxone (an overdose-reversing medication), and cash that had apparently fallen out of the vehicle. These findings are part of the ongoing investigation into Anthony’s Outagamie County charges.

Court Proceedings and Next Steps

Anthony’s Waushara County case is now concluded with her prison sentence, but she faces continued legal proceedings in Outagamie County. Authorities say the reckless driving and injury charges could carry additional penalties if she is convicted.

Officials emphasized that both cases illustrate the dangers of drug-related activity and high-speed driving, particularly when public safety is at risk.
