Taylorsville, NC – A multi-agency investigation in Taylorsville, North Carolina, resulted in the seizure of a significant quantity of illegal drugs and the arrest of one individual, authorities said. The operation targeted the sale and distribution of narcotics along Willie McLeod Road in Alexander County.
Multi-Agency Operation
The investigation, spanning four months, involved the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office, North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office, and Lenoir Police Department. Deputies executed three search warrants at separate locations as part of the coordinated effort.
Drugs and Contraband Seized
Officials reported seizing a total of:
- 6.6 pounds of methamphetamine
- 2.4 pounds of cocaine
- 2.7 pounds of marijuana
- 7 grams of fentanyl
- 5 grams of psychedelic mushrooms
Additionally, authorities confiscated U.S. currency, firearms, and illegal non-tax-paid moonshine, with a combined street value of approximately $61,000.
Arrest Made, Suspect Still at Large

Bradley Smith, 49, of Taylorsville, was arrested in connection with the investigation. He faces multiple charges including drug trafficking and possession and is being held at the Alexander County Detention Center under a $1.5 million secured bond.
Authorities are actively searching for Nathan Smith, 36, also of Taylorsville, who remains at large. Officials are urging anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office at (828) 632-2911 or Crimestoppers at (828) 632-8555.
