According to SDPD, a white 2020 Chevrolet Traverse was traveling northbound on Camino Ruiz when it struck the teen near the intersection. Investigators said it remains unclear which direction the pedestrian was traveling at the time of the crash.

The 40-year-old male driver of the SUV was not injured in the collision and remained at the scene, authorities said.
