Marengo, IL — A driver sustained moderate injuries after a chunk of ice or snow fell from a semi-truck on Friday, according to the Marengo Fire & Rescue District. The incident occurred at approximately 12:51 p.m. on the 9200 block of S. Grant Highway in unincorporated Marengo.
Investigation Details
Officials said the ice or snow fell from a semi-truck traveling ahead of a work van, striking the windshield and injuring the male driver. Emergency responders transported the victim to a nearby hospital. Authorities confirmed the injuries were non-life-threatening.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash, and the scene was quickly secured by local responders.
