Santa Rosa, CA — A 21-year-old Santa Rosa woman led law enforcement on a dangerous high-speed pursuit along Highway 101 in Sonoma County before crashing her vehicle and being arrested for DUI, officials reported.
The driver, Adalynn Carrasco, was booked into the Sonoma County Jail on multiple charges following the early Thursday morning chase.
Chase Details: 100+ MPH on Highway 101
The chase began just before 2:30 a.m. Thursday, when California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers pursued Carrasco’s black Dodge Charger near Steele Lane. After CHP briefly lost sight of the vehicle, a deputy later spotted it traveling at 130 mph with its headlights off near Airport Boulevard.
Deputies rejoined the pursuit, which continued into downtown Healdsburg. After losing the vehicle for about 15 minutes, the chase resumed, with Carrasco reportedly driving southbound on Highway 101 at speeds exceeding 100 mph.
Rollover Crash Ends Pursuit
The chase concluded when Carrasco attempted to exit at Hopper Lane, lost control, and the car rolled over, landing on its roof. Deputies located the vehicle and secured the scene.
Carrasco was transported to a local hospital for medical clearance before being booked into custody, as per KRON4.
Charges Filed Against 21-Year-Old Driver
Carrasco faces several serious charges, including:
- Felony evading an officer
- Driving under the influence (DUI)
- Violation of probation related to a prior DUI conviction
Authorities emphasized that the pursuit posed significant risks to other drivers and pedestrians along the highway and in downtown areas.
Community and Law Enforcement Response
The incident has raised concerns about repeat offenders and public safety on Sonoma County roadways. Deputies and CHP officers worked together to safely end the chase, despite the high speeds and dangerous driving behavior.
Officials urge drivers to exercise caution, especially during nighttime hours, and to report any reckless driving incidents promptly.
