Falls Township, PA — Authorities say a police pursuit originating in Trenton, New Jersey, ended with the arrest of a shooting suspect and the discovery of an AR-15–style rifle after a violent crash in Bucks County late on Monday, December 1, 2025.
According to investigators, the incident began around 8:51 p.m., when Trenton Police attempted to stop the driver of a red BMW believed to be connected to an earlier shooting incident. Officers initiated a pursuit but eventually lost sight of the vehicle as it sped toward the Pennsylvania border.
Before losing contact, Trenton authorities quickly alerted officers in Falls Township, Pennsylvania, about the ongoing chase. Local police immediately began searching the area, unaware that the situation was about to escalate.
BMW Overturns; AR-15 Recovered Near Vehicle
As Falls Township officers canvassed nearby roadways, a passing motorist flagged them down and reported that a vehicle matching the BMW’s description had flipped over near the intersection of Woolston Drive and Stony Hill Road.
When officers arrived, they discovered the overturned BMW, but the driver had already fled. Outside the vehicle, police found an AR-15–style rifle, adding urgency to the search for the missing suspect. Authorities say the weapon was recovered safely and will undergo ballistic analysis as part of the ongoing investigation.
Suspect Identified as Alix Eugene
A short time later, officers located a man walking along Lincoln Highway who matched the description of the BMW’s driver. Police identified him as 31-year-old Alix Eugene, who reportedly has addresses in both Trenton and Tinton Falls, New Jersey.
Eugene appeared to have sustained minor injuries in the crash and was transported to Saint Mary Medical Center for treatment. After being medically cleared, he was taken into custody by Falls Township Police.
Authorities say Eugene was arraigned shortly after his release from the hospital and was remanded to the Bucks County Prison, where he is currently being held.
Awaiting Extradition to New Jersey
Investigators report that Eugene is now awaiting extradition back to New Jersey to face charges related to the earlier shooting and subsequent pursuit. Details regarding the specific charges he may face have not yet been released, but officials from both states continue to coordinate the case.
Police have not yet revealed what connection, if any, Eugene may have to the AR-15 found at the crash site. The investigation remains active as authorities piece together the events that led from the initial shooting to the multi-state pursuit and eventual arrest.
Community members in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey are urged to contact law enforcement with any additional information that could help strengthen the case or clarify Eugene’s actions prior to the pursuit.
Public Safety Response
Local leaders in Falls Township emphasized that the quick communication between Trenton Police and Falls Township officers helped prevent further danger to the public. The discovery of a high-powered weapon near a residential roadway highlights, once again, the risks officers face during interstate chases and the importance of cooperative policing.
Residents in the area reported heavy police activity Monday night but no injuries to bystanders. Crews worked into the night to remove the overturned BMW and clear the roadway, according to the reports.
What Happens Next
Eugene’s extradition hearing is expected soon, after which New Jersey prosecutors will release further information on the charges he will face. The investigation into the shooting, the police pursuit, and the firearm recovery will continue across both states.
