Brunswick County, N.C. — A high-speed police pursuit across county lines ended in the arrest of Noah Jackson, who authorities say stole a vehicle with a dog inside, triggered a multi-agency chase, and rammed into multiple police units before being taken into custody.
Stolen Vehicle With Dog Sparks Urgent Police Response
According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol (NCSHP), the incident began around 3:53 p.m. on Friday, November 28, when Jackson, identified in arrest warrants, allegedly stole a car from a convenience store on Carolina Beach Road in Wilmington. The vehicle had a dog inside at the time, elevating the urgency of the response.
The car’s owner immediately contacted authorities, and officers from the Wilmington Police Department (WPD) initiated pursuit protocols because of what officials described as the “nature and severity” of the crime.
Police Pursuit Crosses Into Brunswick County
As Jackson fled the Wilmington area, he crossed into Brunswick County, prompting coordination between WPD, NCSHP, and additional nearby agencies. Officers attempted controlled intervention techniques to contain the fleeing suspect.
WPD reported that Jackson struck two police vehicles during the chase, intensifying the danger. A third police unit was hit after officers performed a pursuit intervention maneuver in an attempt to disable the stolen car. Debris, damaged units, and tire marks were later seen scattered along the roadway.
The chase ultimately ended on Highway 17, just past the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge, where the stolen vehicle was finally stopped, according to the reports.
Female Passenger Arrested After Jumping from Moving Vehicle
During the chase, a female passenger identified as Kerry Korff leapt from the stolen car onto the roadway. Officers were able to retrieve her safely without further injury or complications. She was immediately taken into custody, though additional information regarding her charges was not released at this time.
Authorities noted that despite the collisions and the intensity of the pursuit, no officers sustained serious injuries.
Stolen Dog Recovered Safely
One of the most urgent concerns during the incident was the dog inside the stolen vehicle. According to WPD, the animal was successfully recovered after the pursuit ended and is safe.
The police department emphasized that officers acted swiftly to ensure the safety of both the animal and the public throughout the pursuit.
Suspect Faces Multiple Felony Charges
Arrest warrants reveal that 33-year-old Noah Jackson faces a long list of charges, including:
- Felony Larceny
- Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle
- Larceny of a Dog
- First-Degree Kidnapping
- Flee/Elude Arrest with a Motor Vehicle
- Multiple misdemeanor offenses
Court documents show that Jackson is scheduled to appear in court on December 1 at 2 p.m.
WPD confirmed that the investigation remains active and additional details may emerge as officers continue reviewing body-cam footage, vehicle damage, witness statements, and internal pursuit reports.
Significant Property Damage Reported
In total, three police vehicles were damaged along with the stolen car during the pursuit. All vehicles will undergo inspection as part of the ongoing investigation. Officials noted that the extent of the damage reinforces the “extreme danger” posed by the suspect’s actions.
Community Reassured After High-Risk Chase
WPD stated that despite the chaos caused by the pursuit, the rapid collaboration between agencies prevented any civilian injuries.
“Officers worked aggressively to contain the threat and prevent further harm,” WPD said in a statement.
Authorities say the case underscores the risks officers face when suspects recklessly flee law enforcement—risking their own lives and the public’s safety.
