Huntsville, AL – After a months-long investigation, Reginald Scott, the leader of a major drug trafficking organization, was arrested by the North Alabama Drug Task Force. This operation led to nearly two dozen arrests and the seizure of assets worth nearly $5 million.
The operation was the first under the Billy Clardy III Act, named after HPD STAC agent Billy Clardy, who was killed in the line of duty in 2019 while investigating a major drug operation.
Investigation and Arrest
The investigation into Reginald Scott’s operations began in November 2023, when the North Alabama Drug Task Force and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Alabama Drug Enforcement Task Force started looking into his network.
Scott, who operated primarily in the north Huntsville area, was the subject of interceptive communications granted under the Billy Clardy III Act. This led to 23 indictments, according to Lt. Joe Kennington.
“This law is not just about enforcement; it’s about honoring the mission that he [Clardy] gave his life for,” Lt. Kennington said.
Drug and Firearm Seizures
The operation resulted in the seizure of 24 pounds of cocaine, 278 pounds of marijuana, 220 grams of fentanyl, and more than $220,000 in drug proceeds. Authorities also seized stolen firearms as reported by WAAYTV.
These significant busts reflect the continuing battle to stop the flow of illegal drugs in Madison County and beyond.
Arrests and Charges
In addition to Reginald Scott, others arrested included:
- Fabian Darrell Scott, Devin Emmett Farrell, and Kevin Andre Glenn (Trafficking Cocaine and Marijuana)
- Charnessa Lavern Campbell, Bryan Saldana, and Juan Alfanso Arredondo (Trafficking Marijuana)
- Femark Dewayne Robinson (Trafficking Cocaine, Fentanyl, Opiates, MDMA)
- Several others facing various drug-related charges
The investigation is ongoing, and law enforcement officials are committed to dismantling further drug trafficking organizations.
Community Impact and Law Enforcement’s Continued Efforts
Attorney General Steve Marshall praised the operation, stating, “This bust is proof that Alabama is benefiting from the Billy Clardy III Act.” He added, “This county is safer, and this community is better off because of the brave dedication of those involved.”
Madison County Sheriff Kevin Turner assured the public that this operation was just the beginning, promising that law enforcement will continue to target drug dealers in the region.
