Thousand Oaks, CA – A months-long investigation by Ventura County law enforcement ended with the arrest of a 23-year-old Canoga Park man, accused of selling drugs to juveniles in Thousand Oaks.
Detectives with the Thousand Oaks Directed Enforcement Unit (DEU) began investigating Arcenio Zuniga-Moncada in July 2025 after receiving reports that he was distributing controlled substances, including to minors, according to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office.
Arrest and Evidence
On September 24, 2025, DEU detectives arrested Zuniga-Moncada and recovered a quantity of controlled substances packaged for sale, along with other evidence supporting allegations of drug distribution. The arrest was carried out with assistance from the East County Sexual Assault Unit and the Ventura County Narcotics Street Team.
Zuniga-Moncada was booked at the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility on suspicion of:
- Selling marijuana to a minor
- Possession of controlled substances for sale
He remains in custody at the Ventura County Main Jail with bail set at $65,000, as per KTLA.
Dangers of Drug Use Among Minors
Authorities emphasized that adolescent use of marijuana can have serious effects on brain development, memory, attention, and decision-making, and may increase the risk of dependency and other mental health issues.
“This case highlights the ongoing dangers of drug distribution targeting young people in our community,” officials said.
