Ventura, CA — A 19-year-old man was taken into custody after authorities say he operated a drug delivery service catering to juveniles across Ventura County, selling a range of illicit substances through social media and messaging apps.
Primary Suspect Identified
According to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, Benjamin Marcus, 19, of Ventura, allegedly targeted underage clients, offering psilocybin mushrooms, LSD, ketamine, marijuana, and nicotine products for sale.
Detectives launched an investigation in November, eventually tracing the operation back to Marcus as the primary suspect.
Search Warrant Uncovers Drugs and Cash
On December 4, deputies executed a search warrant at Marcus’ residence in the 7700 block of Eisenhower Street, Ventura. The search revealed a substantial stash of drugs and cash, including:
- Approximately 73 marijuana vape devices
- 7 containers of nicotine solution
- 1 LSD tablet
- 1 gram of marijuana wax
- 2.55 grams of ketamine
- Over $35,500 in U.S. currency, believed to be proceeds from illicit drug sales
Charges and Arrest Details
Following the search, Marcus was arrested and booked into the Ventura County Jail. He faces multiple charges, including:
- Possession of a controlled substance for sale
- Furnishing a controlled substance
- Possession of marijuana for sale
- Sale/transportation of marijuana
Marcus has since posted bail and is awaiting trial, according to authorities.
