According to prosecutors, Sofia Todorov, now 20, turned herself in at the Broward County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday. She was arrested and charged with:

- Two counts of reckless driving
The incident occurred on the morning of May 19, 2024, when Todorov allegedly accelerated to 124 mph before striking a minivan carrying 65-year-old Lorene Seeler Young, who was killed, and her 84-year-old mother, Virginia Baker, who sustained permanent and continuing injuries.

In addition to criminal charges, Todorov and her mother are being sued by Young’s children and Baker, who allege that Todorov’s mother is vicariously liable for allowing her daughter to drive the vehicle.
