Erin, WI — A $1.5 million home was completely destroyed in a fire that broke out Tuesday afternoon in the Town of Erin. The blaze, which consumed the multi-story residence, was reported by a neighbor just before 3 p.m. on the 2000 block of County Highway K.
Fire Details and Response
Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded after receiving a call from a neighbor who reported that the house was fully engulfed in flames. Fortunately, no one was inside the house at the time of the fire. One of the homeowners was on scene when emergency services arrived.
“The home was deemed a total loss due to the severity of the blaze,” the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said.
The Hartford Fire Department quickly arrived at the scene and began fire suppression efforts, but the extensive fire damage to the 4,400-square-foot home, built in 1985, made it impossible to save.
No Injuries Reported, Cause Under Investigation
Miraculously, no injuries were reported, and no one was harmed in the fire. The homeowner was able to evacuate safely, and fortunately, no one else was inside.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, with officials yet to determine the exact origin of the blaze. The large residence was valued at approximately $1.5 million, making it a significant loss for the owners.
“The cause of the fire is still being investigated. We will have more details once the investigation is complete,” said the fire department’s spokesperson.
