On Wednesday CT State Representative Dan Carter, Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, released his new 30-second ad (view above) against his opponent U. S. Senator Richard Blumenthal, while Blumenthal has a new ad out not mentioning Carter at all.
The Carter ad states, “Dick Blumenthal always had a lot to say about things that matter most to him but there are some things Senator Blumenthal doesn’t want to talk about.”
The Carter ad then includes:
• Blumenthal declining to comment on a number of issues such as payments to Iran (info. from Wall Street Journal report).
• Blumenthal declining to comment on using the Sandy Hook tragedy to solicit campaign funds.
• Controversy about Blumenthal stating in 2010 that he was in Vietnam in military service.

The Blumenthal 30-second ad, “Ignition,” also released on Wednesday, mentions a faulty ignition switch from General Motors, related to numerous deaths, a product defect that they supposedly knew about for over a decade failed to do the recall until last year. “Blumenthal took on General Motors” the ad says, and in the ad Blumenthal states, “Do the right thing GM,” the ad claiming he “pushed them to create a fund for victims’ families … Now he is fighting to make it a crime for company executives to conceal that a product is dangerous, so this never happens again” (S 2140 Hide No Harm Act) the voiceover in the ad states.

to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put
the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit
crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back!
