Stunning Upset: Donald Trump Won the Presidency, Hillary Clinton Does Not Give Concession Speech

In the wee hours of this morning, the results of the election were determined and Donald Trump is now the president elect, the 45th President of the United States.

Stunning Upset: Donald Trump Won the Presidency, Hillary Clinton Does Not Give Concession Speech

In the wee hours of this morning, the results of the election were determined and Donald Trump is now the president elect, the 45th President of the United States.  The Associated Press officially called Trump’s victory at 1:30 am EST.

After a hard fought campaign, Trump said to his supporters, “I think it is time for us to come together as one united people,” after winning results were determined.

The electoral votes stand at 278 for Trump, 218 for Clinton this morning.

Hillary Clinton did not give a concession speech, her campaign chairman John Podesta announced at the Javits Center in New York after 2am Eastern Time. “Several states are too close to call, so we’re not going to have anything more to say tonight,” he said.  Podesta urged supporters to go home and sleep, and insisted, “She is not done yet.”

At approximately 2:40am, CNN reported that Clinton had phoned Trump to congratulate him.

Clinton supporters were visibly stunned upon learning of the election results.  It became more of a funeral than a the celebration party, that had been planned.  Clinton is possibly expected to speak later today.
