Senator Boucher: ‘New Rail Line to Use 30-year-old Rail Cars? What?‘

Friends,

In my video below, I talk about the state DOT’s plan to lease and refurbish 30-year-old rail cars for a new, supposedly high-speed rail line in Hartford. At the same time, the DOT is proposing fare increases and service reductions to the existing rail line along the shore where travel is standing room onlyand additional rail cars would benefit commuters. Is this really the best use of the state’s money? I plan to get to the bottom of this matter.
