NEW BRITAIN – At the 223rd Annual Meeting of Hartford County Medical Association held on October 7, State Representative Dan carter (R-2) was recognized, alongside fellow members of the Connecticut House of Representatives, for his work regarding public health related issues this past legislative session.
Rep. Carter, who labored ardently against hospital funding cuts laden in the recently passed budget – which included a new tax on ambulatory surgical centers, reduced Medicaid payments to hospitals and eliminated the Small Hospital Grant for the remainder of this fiscal year – received an award of appreciation.
“I am immensely grateful for the support of the Hartford County Medical Association,” said Rep. Carter. “It is my goal to continue advocating for the safety and wellbeing of our hospitals and healthcare industries in the upcoming session.”
