Rep. Carter Encourages Businesses to Step Up to the Plate

HARTFORDState Rep. Dan Carter (R-2) is bolstering businesses to attend this year’s Connecticut Business Day being hosted by Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA) on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Legislative Office Building at 300 Capitol Avenue in Hartford.

“This is a key opportunity for local businesses to interact with their legislators in Hartford while decisions are being made that could affect them,” said Rep. Carter. “I encourage all to attend: advocate for yourself and your business. Get Connecticut working for you.”

Registration and networking begins in Room 2B. Speakers and attendees include Governor Malloy; JoAnn Ryan, President & CEO of Northwest Connecticut’s Chamber of Commerce and Chair of the Connecticut Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (CACCE); Joe Brennan, President and CEO of CBIA; Bonnie Stewart, VP of Government & Public Affairs at the General Counsel; and John Emra, President of AT&T Connecticut.

A legislative update and informational session on how to effectively engage legislators will take place from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. in Room 2C. It will feature a new, interactive and innovative click-polling technology to help participants gain deeper insights into the issues at the Capitol and how companies across Connecticut are engaging their elected officials.

Lastly, local and regional legislators from the Fairfield and New Haven Counties will be available in Room 2A starting at 11:30 a.m. to hear about the issues that matter most to residents and businesses.
