The Facebook page of Dallas gunman Micah Xavier Johnson reveals some background information and photos, hopefully adding answers to the police investigation of possible motives for the police ambush that took place in Dallas, Texas on June 7, 2016, starting at approximately 9:oo p.m. Twelve police officers were shot, five fatal, and seven injured, and two civilians were shot and wounded.
Dallas Police Chief David Brown said in a recent press conference that the gunman, identified as Micah Xavier Johnson, 25, holed himself up inside El Centro College in the downtown area of Dallas.
Chief Brown said the gunman is “not affiliated with any groups,” and he said he “did this alone.” It is not known at this time for sure, if the other three suspects captured and questioned were involved in the shooting, or more people were involved.
The gunman was eventually killed in order to keep police and the public safe, when police decided to detonate a bomb robot, after hours of police negotiations with the suspect failed.
CNN reports that Johnson served in the U.S. Army Reserve as a “carpentry masonry specialist.” Johnson has no ties to terror groups and no known criminal history and had relatives in Mesquite, Texas, sources reported to the LA Times.
“A black SUV was found at the scene registered to Delphene Johnson, who is Micah Johnson’s mother, according to Facebook posts and public records,” NBC Dallas-Fort Worth reports.
The Johnson Facebook page shows numerous photos of the shooter including ones from his military days, in uniform. It also shows a Black Power flag, one of the only images posted besides photos of Johnson in various uniforms and poses, including one aiming a firearm.
Johnson’s Facebook cover photo is the Pan-African flag (click here for meaning of flag).

Right now people are gathered in Thanksgiving Square in Dallas, praying for victims and families of those shot, CNN reports.
President Barack Obama ordered flags to be lowered to half mast in honor of Dallas victims.
