Newtown Labor Day Parade 2016 is on September 5th, 10 a.m.
Celebrating the Emerald Anniversary of 55 Years!
About 4,000 people attended the 2015 Newtown Labor Day Parade, and this year’s parade is likely to be the same, unless the pending rain or hurricane comes our way and affects attendance.
The parade is scheduled to begin at 10 am with the Escort Division led by the Newtown Police.
It is recommended that spectators find their seats by 9 am. Parking is available at Big Y, Caraluzzi’s Market, Hawley School, and St. Rose School. Shuttle Bus leaves from St. Rose School. The local roads will be closed by the police a 9:30 am and will stay closed until after the parade.
The parade route begins on Main Street and turns left on Glover Street, continuing with a left turn on Queen Street, where the reviewing stand with judges will be, then ends on Church Street. View map below (click on image to view larger):
