To the Editor:
We all know that in the U.S., corporations have big money to spend on lobbyists . I believe this is the reason that individual residents and town leaders have had most rights taken away when it comes to the location of cell towers.
We, on Codfish Hill Road in Bethel are not among the first and will sadly not be the last group of families trying to protect our children, property values and peaceful scenic neighborhood from one of these monstrosities. Several years ago, a resident on Spring Hill Road in Bethel watched helplessly as one was approved less than 60 feet from his home.
This may look like our private fight, but really it’s about the future of all families in all neighborhoods. Connecticut and Vermont are the two states which make it the toughest on residents to fight off cell towers. Today it is our neighborhood. Tomorrow it could be yours.
We hope that every person concerned about the possibility of this and more cell towers will attend our hearing on June 2nd.
